The Policing Board’s Finance Branch is responsible for the Board’s finance functions. The main areas of work are as follows:
- Preparation of annual budgets.
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts.
- Co-ordinating the Policing Board’s input to Government Spending Reviews and Quarterly Monitoring Rounds.
- Preparation of the annual financial accounts for submission to the Northern Ireland Audit Office and the Department of Justice.
- The payment of suppliers through the Policing Boards Accounts Payable function.
- Monitoring District Policing Partnership (DPP) expenditure against budget and the subsequent payment of grants.
- Agreeing DPP budgets and in year forecasts.
- Day-to-day operations, ensuring the accurate input of financial journals, effective monitoring and posting of expenditure, reconciliation of bank accounts, timely and accurate cash drawdowns for PSNI and the Board and the operation of an effective system of internal control.
- Monitoring PSNI monthly management accounts
- Reviewing PSNI Annual Accounts
- Administrators of PSNI Pension Schemes
