The Deputy Chief Executive is responsible for the management of the External Relations Directorate which includes the Policing Board’s work with District Policing Partnerships (DPPs), community engagement, external and internal communications work. and monitoring the performance of PSNI against the Human Resources strategy and the Training, Educatiion and Development strategy.
The Directorate is comprised of four Branches:
- Community Engagement which has responsibility for the Policing Board’s role in ‘Gaining the cooperation of the public with the police in preventing crime’
- DPP Support which manages the appointment, training and support of DPP Members
- Press and Public Relations which is responsible for promoting the work of the Policing Board, organising events and the publication of Policing Board literature.
- PSNI Human Resources / Training, Education and Development (TED) Branch which is responsible for monitoring the performance of PSNI against the Human Resources strategy and the TED strategy.
