Audit and Best Value Branch is responsible for fulfilling the Policing Board’s legislative responsibilities under the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000 to demonstrate continuous improvement in services provided by the Policing Board and by the PSNI. The Branch is responsible for the following:
- Developing a Continuous Improvement / Best Value programme for the Policing Board and carrying out Best Value reviews of the Policing Board functions.
Ensuring that the PSNI’s Best Value reviews have the potential to bring step-change improvement.
- Monitoring, scrutinising, challenging and providing input to the PSNI Best Value review process to ensure that the agreed programme is completed.
- Undertaking a liaison role in relation to Best Value reviews between the PSNI and the Policing Board.
- Assisting in establishing and monitoring improvement plans following completion of reviews.
- Managing the Policing Board Corporate IT function
- Managing all Internal Audit activity within the Policing Board.
