If we fail to respond to your request within 40 days, or fail to respond to your satisfaction, and you have sent all the information required to us to enable us to deal with your request, including, if appropriate, a fee, you should send us a reminder keeping a copy of your letter. If possible it would also be helpful if you contacted the Data Protection Officer who will take the details of your request and advise you on the progress of your request.
If you still do not receive a reply fairly quickly or, if you think the information you receive is wrong or incomplete you may:
- ask the Information Commissioner to carry out an assessment as to whether it is likely or unlikely that the Policing Board is processing your personal data in compliance with the terms of the Act;
- pursue the matter yourself through the court. For information as to how to do this please refer to the Information Commissioner’s leaflet called ‘Taking a case to court’ available on the ICO website: www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk or contact the Commissioner’s Office on 01625 545745.
