POLICE SERVICE OF NORTHERN IRELAND
SALARY: £190,476 (PLUS A PACKAGE OF BENEFITS)
The Northern Ireland Policing Board is seeking to appoint a Deputy Chief Constable to PSNI.
PSNI is the 5th largest police service in the UK with a workforce of 8,500 officers and staff, and a budget of over £800 million. As the Deputy Chief Constable you will work collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer to support the Chief Constable in building public and organisational confidence and trust and ensuring the delivery of an effective police service. The future trust and confidence in policing will be influenced by the style of leadership brought to this key position.
Policing is one of Northern Ireland’s most prominent public services. The Deputy Chief Constable position carries significant leadership, operational and representative responsibilities and the Board is looking for a leader with an ability to drive and deliver organisational change to meet current and future challenges.
The role is demanding, high profile and often fast paced. Being the Deputy Chief Constable is regarded as a significant national policing leadership role and this is reflected in the salary. We are looking for a Deputy Chief Constable who will bring a strong vision for service delivery to the community, have a proven track record of leading in a complex operating environment, have an ability to build strong relationships and be able to demonstrate delivering results through the development of operational policing plans which support building confidence within the service and across the community. This role also attracts a removal and relocation package.
