The Northern Ireland Policing Board has confirmed the appointment of two new Assistant Chief Officers (ACOs) and two Assistant Chief Constables (ACCs) for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Service Executive Team.
Policing Board Chair Doug Garrett said:
“Appointing the PSNI leadership team is an important role for the Board and I am delighted to confirm that four new appointments have been made. Mark McNaughten is appointed to the role of Assistant Chief Officer Corporate Services and Aldrina Magwood is appointed to the role of Assistant Chief Officer Strategic Planning and Transformation. Bobby Singleton and Chris Todd are appointed as new Assistant Chief Constables.
Supporting the Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable and Chief Operating Officer role in the delivery of policing, each will play a key role as a member of the PSNI Service Executive Team. As a Board, we look forward to working with them in the time ahead.
The ACO level appointments fill new positions created as the result of a restructure to the Leadership Team and the ACC appointments fill vacancies at that level.”

The Assistant Chief Officer appointments are made in accordance with Section The appointments were approved by the Policing Board and the Justice Minister in line with legislation. Each of the appointments comprised a rigorous selection process involving a panel of Board Members. Each competition was progressed on the key principles of merit, fairness, openness and transparency. Independent scrutiny was incorporated at all stages of the competitions to provide added probity and assurance.
Assistant Chief Officers
Mark McNaughten is appointed to the role of Assistant Chief Officer Corporate Services. He was Temporary ACO Corporate Services within the PSNI.
Aldrina Magwood is appointed to the role of Assistant Chief Officer Strategic Planning and Transformation. She is currently Director of Performance and Reform in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.
Assistant Chief Constables
Bobby Singleton is appointed as Assistant Chief Constable. He is currently a Temporary ACC within the PSNI.
Chris Todd is appointed as Assistant Chief Constable. He is currently a Temporary ACC within West Midlands Police.
