Lurgan violence condemned

25 January 2016

Policing Board Chair Anne Connolly has condemned the violence directed at police during a security alert in Lurgan.

“I join with the local commander in praising the professionalism of the police officers who were faced with this very menacing situation.

Police are clear that the violence was orchestrated and we are grateful that no one was injured. Such violence is not acceptable and anyone with information about those involved are asked to get in touch with the police directly or through the Crimestoppers number.

For travellers and local people this has caused serious disruption and we thank them for their continued patience.”
