Policing Board Members briefed by Chief Constable

Vice Chair

Further to the statement issued this morning, please find below update following a briefing from the Chief Constable to Board Members this afternoon.

Policing Board, Vice Chair Edgar Jardine said:

“Board Members thanked the Chief Constable for taking the time to brief Board Members on this cowardly attack and the investigation now in train.

Members conveyed directly to the Chief Constable a message of support and solidarity to all the officers and staff within the Police Service, and also wanted to ensure that thanks were extended to all those who assisted in the aftermath of the attack.

The nature of the attack has been unanimously condemned by the Board, but our concern remains focused on John, his condition, and that his family get the support needed in the days ahead.

The Chief Constable, and his team, were assured of the Board’s full support.”
