Question

Stronger Together (pg 2) How many Communities of Interest have held meetings so far?

Answer

Police Service can confirm there have been three Stronger Together workshops held in Newforge - 30th November 2021, 8th February 2022 and 11th April 2022.

These events saw representatives from support and staff associations coming together to have their voices heard and discuss how they can play a key role in the co-design, co-development and co-delivery of our service. There are five ‘communities of interest’ that our Associations felt were most important to them. Each community will meet over the summer months to identify their key priorities with the aim of breaking down organisational silos, enabling knowledge sharing and supporting innovation through collective leadership and direct involvement of all our staff.

Communities of interest are -

  • Learning and development
  • Recruitment
  • Communications
  • Policy
  • Wellbeing

The next Stronger Together meeting is planned for 20th September 2022 where the communities of interest will come together and feedback their key priorities and identify next steps.

The Stronger Together forum was formed from the ‘Being Representative & Inclusive Delivery group’, as part of our People Strategy. It is still in its infancy but it will be scheduled to take place a few weeks before Your Voice forum, where regular meetings are held between the Chief Constable and the Staff Associations, Trade Unions and Networks to give the ‘Employee Voice’ legitimacy and access to decision making.
