Policing Board Chair Mukesh Sharma has condemned those responsible for the security incident at Lurgan Police Station.
“This was a reckless act that has caused massive disruption to all those living and working near Lurgan station, and particularly all those who have had to leave their homes.
Those behind this incident were intent on causing harm. They are living in a past that nobody wants and they couldn’t give a damn about the implications on people in the community or indeed the hijacked delivery driver who was threatened and forced to abandon their car at the station.
We thank the work of police officers and ATO colleagues who have worked to deal with this device and make sure that everyone was kept safe.
Anyone with information about those responsible is urged to report it to the police on 101 on anonymously through the Crimestoppers Charity.
The Board will discuss the incident and response with the Chief Constable at its meeting on Thursday.”
