Policing Board condemns murder of journalist
Vice Chair Debbie Watters has condemned last night’s murder of journalist Lyra McKee. She said : “It is utterly shocking and saddening that the journalist Lyra McKee was killed last night in Derry/Londonderry. This is a tragic loss of her young life and our support goes out to Lyra’s family and friends.
There are no circumstances where police should come under attack as they do their job to keep people safe. Those behind the attacks and this murder have achieved nothing but destruction and heartbreak. It is vital that anyone with information which could help police pursue those responsible brings it to the PSNI or Crimestoppers.”
