The Justice Minister’s response to the Independent Review of the Northern Ireland Policing Board is welcomed.
Since publication of the Independent Review in January 2025, the Board has been taking forward a programme of work which is set out in our published response. Implementation of the actions agreed by the Board will further enhance the effectiveness and standing of the Board as well as strengthen its oversight responsibilities.
In taking forward this work, discussions have been held with the Department of Justice and the Chief Constable as well as other stakeholders.
The Board will now consider the Minister’s response and commentary.
