Further to today's commitment [06/07/23] from ACC McEwan to revert to the Board regarding costs awarded against the PSNI for the IPT case settled in December 2022 re matters relating to Operation Henley, would the CC please confirm that every month the PSNI does not pay their costs obligation, the quantum increases by 8% per month?
Answer
The costs claimed are under consideration by the Crown Solicitor’s Office with the assistance of a cost’s consultant. In relation to the specific reference to an incremental factor of 8% per month, the Chief Constable does not accept that this assertion is accurate.
