To ask the Chief Constable; whether there are detection targets for Mobile Safety Cameras.
The Road Safety Partnership has not adopted a target-led approach or set quotas for speed detections. The Partnership is required to conduct regular reviews to establish whether there is continued justification to enforce speed limits at individual locations. It is important that we do not become a predictable presence at individual locations but instead consider deployment to emerging problem areas.
