Question

The Board Vice-Chair noted that in conversations with NIO/SoS reference is frequently made to a previous proposal/plan to reduce the number of contact management centres across PSNI Estate - can the Chief Constable please provide an update on the current position in relation to that proposal?

Answer

Police Service of Northern Ireland currently have three contact centres located at Gough, Castlereagh and Maydown.

Police Service of Northern Ireland has not yet made a formal assessment of cost efficiencies from consolidation of centres into two or indeed one single sight location. A single location would require extensive estates work and costs with a further contingency site likely to be required. Formal work to ascertain the costs and benefits of such a move is to be undertaken in the next financial year as part of efforts to continue to identify best use of our estate and people.
