In relation to the new PSNI uniform can the Chief Constable advise whether there are any issues with the supply of vests (white tight fitting undervest) for the new police uniforms and if so, what those issues are and when they will be resolved.
Answer
The Police Service does not supply white tight fitting undervests as part of the uniform. White coloured T-Shirts are, however, provided for optional wear under the under the white uniform shirt.
This uniform item remains in stock for issue to officers with the intention for replacement with an equivalent green coloured T-Shirt, later in the year. Stocks of the white coloured T-Shirts are being purposefully depleted before transitioning to the updated green equivalent.
At this time, stocks remain available for issue on all but larger male T-Shirt items, XXL and XXXL.
