We want your views on our Equality and Disability Action Plans

The Policing Board is required to promote equality of opportunity and good relations across a range of categories outlined in Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998.

In compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 we will promote positive attitudes towards disabled people and encourage the participation of disabled people in public life.

The Board is fully committed to carrying out these duties.  We have developed draft Equality and Disability Action Plans and are looking for your feedback on how effective they are.

The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland recommends that public authorities produce an Audit of Inequalities to look at how they promote equality and good relations. We use our Audit of Inequalities to provide a picture of the social and economic inequalities that provide the context for our work and as the basis of an Action Plan to address inequalities relevant to our role through policies, programmes and services.
