What can I do if the Policing Board does not comply with my Subject Access Request?

If we fail to respond to your request within 28 days, or fail to respond to your satisfaction, and you have sent all the information required to us to enable us to deal with your request, including, if requested a fee, you should send us a reminder keeping a copy of your letter. You may also contact the Data Protection Officer who will take the details of your request and advise you on the progress of your request.

If you still do not receive a reply within 14 days or if you think the information you receive is wrong or incomplete, you have:

  • The right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office or another supervisory authority, and
  • The ability to seek to enforce your 'right to access' through a Judicial remedy.
