What happens if my request is refused?

The Freedom of Information Act contains reasons why the Policing Board may withhold some kinds of information. These are known as exemptions.

Also the Freedom of Information Act does not provide you with the right of access to personal information about yourself. You can request this information under the Data Protection Act by making a Privacy Notice Subject Access Request 

The Policing Board is not obliged to deal with vexatious or repeated requests.

If your request for information is refused we will explain the reasons and give you details of how to appeal against the decision.
